IND vs WI: India has defeated West Indies by 5 wickets in the first ODI. The team has secured its ninth consecutive win over the Caribbean. The last win for the Windies team was in 2019 at the Chennai ground. Then the Caribbeans defeated Team India by 8 wickets. India won the toss and decided to field at the Kennington Oval ground in Barbados. The West Indies team, which came out to bat first, got all out for 114 runs. Team India achieved the target of 115 runs for 5 wickets in 22.5 overs.

Team India's wicket fell like this

1st: Shubman Gill (7 runs) - Seals' outside swing ball took the outside edge of the bat and went to Brandon King standing at slip, King took a brilliant catch. Gill played the ball away from the body without coming in line.

Second: Suryakumar Yadav (19 runs) - Gudakesh Moti's ball pitched on the middle off stump and was going towards the off stump. Surya wanted to sweep this ball, but the ball hit the pad. He took DRS when the field umpire declared him out, but the third umpire did not change the decision.

Third: Hardik Pandya (5 runs) - Ishaan Kishan played the ball of Yannick Carrio in the direction of the bowler, which Carrio could not catch. This is the smallest score of Windies against India on home ground. Earlier, in 1997 the team was all out for 121 against India in Port of Spain.

Talking about the overall record, this is the second lowest score of Windies against India. Earlier in 2018, the team was all out for 104 runs in Thiruvananthapuram.

For the Indian team, Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets for six runs, while Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets. Hardik Pandya, Mukesh Kumar and Shardul Thakur got one wicket each.

First: Kyle Meyers (2 runs) - Pandya's backoff wanted to pull the length ball, but the ball swung late and Meyers could not understand it and was caught by Rohit Sharma at mid-on.

Second: Alyque Athanaj (22 runs) - Debutant tried to cut the short length ball after the off stump of Mukesh Kumar, but the ball had more bounce, which went to Ravindra Jadeja standing at point. Jadeja took the catch by taking a high jump.

Third: Brandon King (17 runs) - Good length and cross seam bowled by Shardul Thakur.

Fourth: Shimron Hetmyer (11 runs) - Wanted to play a scoop shot on Jadeja's ball, went towards the off stump in this attempt, but missed Jadeja's ball and was bowled.

Fifth: Rovman Powell (4 runs) – Jadeja was dismissed on the inside ball from the off. The ball turned inside sharply, which Powell could not understand and the ball took the outer edge of the bat and went to Shubman Gill standing at first slip, where Gill took a brilliant catch.

Sixth: Romario Shepherd (0 run) - Kohli took a brilliant catch at second slip. Jadeja's ball came inside with a turn from off and hit the outside edge of the bat. This time Kohli caught at second slip.

Seventh: Drakes (1 run) - Wanted to stop the ball in front of the stump, but could not understand the turn of the ball and the ball hit the pad.

Eighth: Yannick Carrio (3 runs) - Kuldeep's ball pitched on the middle stump and was going towards the leg stump.
