Most of the states of the country are facing scorching heat. Now a new phase of heat wave is about to start in this season, because the effect of relief from the Western Disturbance is over. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of heat wave in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat. In these states, the mercury can exceed 40 to 44 degrees and can be several degrees above normal. Delhi NCR is also not expecting relief from the scorching heat for almost a week now.


According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Delhi on Wednesday was between 41 and 44 degrees. It was 3 degrees above normal. The maximum temperature was 41.6 degrees in Palam, 44 in Gurugram and 44.1 in Mangeshpur. That is, understand that the big part of NCR is getting scorched by the wrath of the sun. On Thursday, hot dusty winds will blow and the maximum temperature can go up to 43. The temperature of Delhi NCR is expected to remain between 43 to 44 degrees till May 2. After May 2, the temperature may drop slightly due to cloud cover.


On the other hand, private weather agency Skymet has also predicted Vidarbha, Interior Odisha, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Maharashtra and isolated- The return of heat has been predicted in different parts. During the next 24 to 48 hours, one or two parts of Telangana may also experience heat wave conditions.

  • Light to moderate rain is very likely over some parts of Sikkim, Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.
  • Light rain with one or two moderate rains may occur over Kerala and southern parts of Karnataka.
  • Light rain is possible at one or two places over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, North Interior Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

  • During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain occurred over Sikkim, and most parts of Northeast India as well as parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Light and scattered rain also occurred in Kerala.
  • Light rain occurred at one or two places over Rayalaseema, North Interior Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
