Trump-Musk News / Trump and Musk received death threats, AQAP also released a video

Saad bin Atif al-Awlaki, the new leader of AQAP in Yemen, has targeted US and Arab leaders by releasing a threatening video. Many faces including Trump and Elon Musk were shown in it. Referring to the Gaza war, he has warned of retaliation.

Trump-Musk News: Yemen's land is once again in the news on the global terrorism stage. Saad bin Atif al-Awlaki, the new leader of AQAP (Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula) linked to Al-Qaeda, has recently drawn the world's attention by releasing a threatening video. In this 30-minute video, Al-Awlaki has openly targeted US President Donald Trump, Tesla and SpaceX owner Elon Musk, and other American leaders and warned of violence.

Gaza war as an excuse, attack on America and Arab countries

In the video, Al-Awlaki refers to the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip and says that there are no "red lines" left now. He called it a part of the "war against Muslims" of the US and Arab countries and "justified retaliation". The video also features photos of Trump, Elon Musk, US Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, as well as logos of Musk's companies. The video is spreading rapidly on social media and is being promoted by AQAP supporters.

Who is Saad bin Atif al-Awlaki?

Al-Awlaki is the man on whom the US has announced a $6 million bounty. He replaced former AQAP chief Khalid al-Batarfi, who was killed in 2024. The US alleges that he has previously openly called for attacks on US interests and allies.

Fear of AQAP's return

AQAP was once considered the deadliest branch of al-Qaeda. However, its strength has diminished in the past few years due to drone attacks, internal feuds, and Saudi and US action. Nevertheless, the organization still maintains a network of 3,000 to 4,000 fighters and supporters. Their funding model runs through bank robbery, arms smuggling, ransom and counterfeit currency.

Strategy to take advantage of the Gaza crisis?

The Gaza war has given AQAP an opportunity to give a new narrative. Just as the Iran-backed Houthi rebels are calling themselves representatives of the "Islamic resistance" by launching missile attacks on Israel, AQAP is also trying to become the "protector of Muslims". Experts believe that while the Houthis and AQAP were once bitter enemies of each other, now the direct conflict between the two seems to be decreasing.

Yemen again becomes the center of global concern

This video is a warning that ignoring Yemen can be dangerous. The Saudi-Iran conflict, the Houthi rebellion and the possible return of AQAP—all this can make Yemen a hub of extremists again. Al-Awlaki's threat is not just words, but a well-thought-out strategy to regain AQAP's strength.
