Donald Trump-PM Modi News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former US President Donald Trump recently had an important phone conversation, in which the two leaders discussed terrorism, regional conflicts and bilateral relations. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed the conversation and said that the conversation lasted for about 35 minutes and there was an in-depth discussion on Operation Sindoor.

PM Modi expressed inability to invite to America

During the conversation, President Trump invited Prime Minister Modi to visit America from Canada, but PM Modi refused to visit America citing his busy schedule. In response, PM Modi invited Trump to visit India, which Trump gladly accepted.

India's strict stand on mediation

It was once again made clear in the conversation that India does not accept the mediation of any third party. PM Modi clearly said that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan was at the initiative of Pakistan, and it was decided through military channels. America or any other country had no role. He said that India neither accepted mediation earlier, nor does it accept it now, nor will it do so in future.

US support on Operation Sindoor

After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, Prime Minister Modi reiterated India's tough policy against terrorism. He informed President Trump about the strategy of Operation Sindoor and the action taken so far. The PM said clearly that now India does not consider terrorism as a "proxy war", but sees it as a direct war. President Trump appreciated this stance of India and expressed confidence in giving full support to India against terrorism.

Iran-Israel conflict and global peace discussed

During the talks, Modi and Trump also discussed the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict in West Asia. Both the leaders expressed concern about the Russia-Ukraine war and agreed that the process of dialogue should continue for a solution.

The meeting could not take place in the G-7 summit

It is worth noting that the meeting between Prime Minister Modi and President Trump was scheduled in Canada during the G-7 conference, but Trump had to suddenly return to the US on June 17, due to which this meeting could not take place. Only after this, Trump took the initiative to talk to PM Modi over the phone.

Trump invited to India for QUAD meeting

At the end of the conversation, PM Modi invited President Trump to visit India, especially in the context of the upcoming QUAD summit. Trump accepted this invitation and expressed his desire to visit India.
