Donald Trump / US court shows Trump the real mirror, overturned 180 decisions in 130 days

It has been 130 days since Donald Trump's second term in America, but many of his decisions are stuck in the courts. Manhattan Court put a permanent stay on the tariff order. So far, the court has stayed more than 180 decisions, due to which the pressure on the Trump administration is increasing.

Donald Trump: There was tremendous political and social stir in America regarding Donald Trump's second return to the presidency. It was expected that he would take decisions with more firmness and aggression than before. But the reality turned out to be quite the opposite. It has been only 130 days since his second term as President began and in this short period, many of his major decisions have been stopped by the US courts.

Continuous setbacks from the courts

Recently, the Trump administration got a big setback from the Federal Court of International Trade in Manhattan, where the tariff order given by him was declared unconstitutional and a permanent ban was imposed on it. The court said in its decision that the President has taken this decision by going beyond the limits prescribed by the Constitution. However, the Trump administration appealed against this order in the Federal Circuit Court, from where he got temporary relief, but the legal battle is still going on.

The court has put a rein more than 180 times

Since the beginning of Trump's second term, the US judiciary has been keeping an eye on his decisions. According to the data, so far the courts have imposed a temporary or permanent ban on Trump's executive orders and policies at least 180 times. Not only this, Trump himself has also withdrawn 11 major decisions so far. These orders include controversial decisions like abolishing birthright citizenship, mass layoffs of federal employees, and stopping foreign aid.

Haste is becoming the biggest weakness

According to experts, the biggest weakness of the Trump administration is its haste. Many important policies are being implemented without adequate legal review and preparation, which is repeatedly being challenged in the courts. For example, proposals like Project 2025 tried to make major changes in the legal framework, which led to a wave of protests and legal hurdles.

Court ban on some major decisions

  • Order to shut down Voice of America - Colorado court declared it unconstitutional.
  • Relaxation in environmental rules - California court banned violation of Clean Air Act.
  • Ban on voting rights of non-Americans - Washington court rejected it.
  • Limiting transgender health rights - New York court cancelled it calling it discriminatory.
  • Control over foreign funding - Even judges appointed by Trump objected.
Taking U-turns himself

Trump has backtracked on many decisions not only because of the courts but also due to public pressure and political opposition. He had talked about ending birth right citizenship, but kept quiet after criticism. Cancelled Ebola prevention funding, but had to reinstate it later. Threatened to cancel the Mexico-Canada trade agreement, but had to postpone it under pressure from the business world. The order to change the visa rules for students had to be stopped after a legal challenge by Harvard and MIT.
