The weather warning is specifically effective from 3:58 PM on 1 September 2026 until 10:00 AM on 2 September 2026. The intensity of the rain is expected to be extremely high in certain pockets, increasing the risk of flash floods and localized flooding in these 10 districts.

Red Alert for Specific Areas in Nainital and Almora

The Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority has escalated the warning to a Red Alert for certain parts of the Nainital and Almora districts. The forecast predicts very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in these specific zones. The areas identified as being at high risk include Chaukhutia, Bhikiyasain, Ranikhet, Bhanoli, Katarmal, Jaiti, Ramnagar, Bhimtal, Haldwani, Mukteshwar, Kotabag, Bhowali, and Dwarahat, along with their surrounding localities.
