T20 World Cup | India captain Virat Kohli has slammed those who trolled Mohammed Shami after the match against Pakistan. He said that attacking someone on the basis of religion is most condemnable. In the T20 World Cup match played on October 24, Pakistan had defeated India by 10 wickets. After this Shami was trolled on social media. After the match, Kohli admitted that Pakistan had performed better than Team India.

In a press conference on Saturday, Kohli strongly condemned those targeting Mohammed Shami on the basis of religion. "We have a good reason to play on the field," he said. Those who write on social media are not spineless people who do not have the courage to talk to any person face to face. He further said, 'This is the lowest level of humanity. Nothing can be more frustrating than attacking someone on the basis of religion. I never thought of discrimination on the basis of religion. Religion is a very sacred thing. Our brotherhood, our friendship cannot be shaken and these things do not matter. I give credit to those who understand us.

After India's loss to Pakistan, Shami's Instagram account had hundreds of messages saying that he is a traitor and he should be thrown out of the Indian team. However, many of his fans and well-known personalities from all walks of life supported Shami. Talking about the Indo-Pak match, India had scored 151 runs while batting first. Pakistan easily achieved this target without losing any wicket. Shami gave 43 runs in this match and he did not get any wicket.
