Delhi: First Phase West Bengal Assam Vidhan Sabha Elections 2021 Updates: Voting for the first phase of West Bengal and Assam assembly elections is due today. Votes will be cast for 30 assembly seats in 5 districts of Bengal, while voting will take place for 47 seats in Assam. The Election Commission has extended the time to cast votes this time.

Voting in three phases in Assam and eight in Bengal

Assembly elections will be held in 3 phases in Assam on 27 March, 1 April and 6 April, while in West Bengal, voting will be held in eight phases on 27 March, 1 April, 6 April, 10 April, 17 April, 22 April, 26 April and 29 April. . Results on May 2 will come in five other states including these two states.

Voting in 47 seats of Assam

The first phase of voting will take place on 47 seats in Assam today. There are 126 assembly seats in Assam, out of which 47 seats are to be voted on for the first phase. These seats are in the 12 districts of Upper Assam and the northern banks of the Brahmaputra.

Election Commission extended voting time

The first phase of voting in Bengal will run from 7 am to 6:30 pm. At the same time, voting will be held in Assam from 7 am to 6 pm. The Election Commission has extended the time to cast votes this time.

Voting on these 30 seats of West Bengal

Voting is to be held today in 30 seats in West Bengal's Bankura, Purulia, Jhargram, West and East Midnapore districts. These 30 seats include Patashpur, Bhagwanpur, Khejuri, Kanthi North, Kanthi South, Agra, Ramnagar, Binpur, Gopiballabhpur, Jhargram, Nayagram, Kesiri, Gadbeta, Salboni, Kharagpur, Medinipur, Dantan, Bandwan, Balrampur, Jaipur, Purulia, Baghmundi, Manbazar, Para, Raghunathpur, Kashipur, Saltora, Ranibandh, Raipur and Chhatna seats will go to polls in the first phase today.
