IPL 2021 | The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team is facing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Monday in the Eliminator match of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League. This match is being played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The team which loses today's match will be out of the tournament. At the same time, if the RCB team loses, then this will be Kohli's last match as captain. Kohli has already announced that he will step down from RCB captaincy after this season and play as a player. Kohli told during the toss against Kolkata that he and former South African explosive batsman AB de Villiers would continue to play for the Bangalore team next year as well.

Kohli confirmed during the toss, “Me and de Villiers will continue to play for RCB in the coming years as well. Certainly, both of us will play together for RCB in the IPL in the coming years. The team that wins this match will take on three-time champions Chennai Super Kings in the final to be held on October 15. The statistics are testifying that this match between the two teams will be very exciting.

If we talk about the head to head record between the two teams, then Kolkata has a record of 16-13 against Bangalore. Kohli took over the captaincy of Bangalore in the 2013 IPL season. Before him, Daniel Vettori was playing this role. Meanwhile, Bangalore's team has reached the playoffs four times and in the year 2016, it has traveled to the final.
