In fact, Rohit recently shared a funny incident related to the high-voltage match between India and Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup. The match was played at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York. Rohit told that during the toss he had made a small but interesting mistake—which became another proof of his “weak memory”.

Coin in pocket… and hand towards the referee!

Rohit said that before the toss he was handed the coin, which was to be tossed. But when the actual time of the toss came, he forgot that the coin was in his pocket. He extended his hand towards the referee for the coin, when suddenly he remembered that the coin was with him. This entire scene was captured on camera and the video went viral on social media.

Rohit forgot to play in Ravi Shastri's energy

In an interview to Star Sports, Rohit laughingly said, "Ravi Shastri was very excited. He was saying—'In blue, Rohit Sharma is ready to punch, and in green, Babar Azam is ready to counter-punch'. There was a different atmosphere all around. In that excitement, I remembered to put the coin in my pocket, but forgot to take it out!"

Will Rohit be seen playing in the next series?

Team India is currently on a tour of England, where only Test matches are being played. Since Rohit has now retired from Tests, he is not a part of this tour. But he can be seen in action once again in the ODI series against Bangladesh in August.
