Rajasthan News: Suicide cases are increasing in Rajasthan's Kota factory. The rising incidents of suicides of students in Kota have now become a matter of concern. To check these rising figures, the government held a meeting last Monday. Many important decisions have been taken in this meeting. Now necessary steps will be taken like 'half day study, half day fun', identifying students with suicidal tendencies and providing psychological counseling one day a week to stop the increasing suicide cases of students. The officials have informed about this.

According to the information received from the officials, apart from this, coaching institutes will also identify those students who can commit suicide and after their identification, they will also be given psychological advice. These steps can control student suicides. An important meeting has been held on this whole matter on Monday in which all the top officers of the city were present. At the same time, representatives of coaching institutes and hostel associations also participated in this meeting through video conference.

Officers meeting

Giving information, the officials said that the meeting was held through video conference under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary (Higher and Technical Education) Bhawani Singh Detha. Apart from officials, representatives of coaching institutes and hostel associations also participated in the meeting. Please tell that CM Gehlot is very concerned about the increasing incidents of suicide in Kota. That's why they have formed a committee for this and Detha has been made the chairperson of this constituted committee. The committee will also visit Kota soon. Among other decisions taken in the meeting, coaching institutes have been asked to form a committee of subject experts in an effort to reduce the course load on students.

There will be motivational sessions

Coachings have also been asked to organize online motivational sessions by experts and upload it on social media for the benefit of all students. Officials said that it was decided in the meeting that the coaching institutes would hold sessions like 'half day study, half day fun' every Wednesday. The meeting was attended by Kota District Collector O P Bunkar, Superintendent of Police Sharad Chowdhary, Additional Collector (Administration) Rajkumar Singh and Additional Superintendent of Police Bhagwat Singh.

More than 2 lakh students come every year

More than 2 lakh students come to Kota annually to prepare for competitive exams like JEE for admission in engineering colleges and NEET for admission in medical colleges. Let us inform that on last Sunday, two students had given their lives in a span of 4 hours. According to officials, 23 students preparing for competitive exams have committed suicide in Kota district so far in the year 2023 and this is the largest number for any year so far. Let us tell you that last year this figure was 15.

22 students committed suicide this year

Kota District Collector OP Bunkar, Superintendent of Police Sharad Chowdhary, Additional Collector Rajkumar Singh and Additional Superintendent of Police Bhagwat Singh also attended the meeting. Let us tell you that many students from all over the country come to Kota to prepare for the most difficult exams like Engineering Entrance Exam JEE and Medical Entrance Exam NEET. But, under the pressure of studies many children commit suicide every year. Last year this figure was 15, which has reached 22 so far this year.
