Bollywood Movies: Divya Khosla Kumar and Neil Nitin Mukesh starrer 'Ek Chatur Naar' has finally released in theatres. Directed by Umesh Shukla and produced under the banner of T-Series Films, this dark comedy definitely caught the attention of the audience, but the first day box office collection could not live up to the expectations.

Box Office Report:

According to the report of sacnilk, the film collected only Rs 50 lakh on the first day of its release i.e. Friday, 12 September 2025. The occupancy of the film was also mixed - 16.66% in the morning, 22.73% in the afternoon, 20.87% in the evening and 30.71% at night, due to which the average occupancy of the day was 22.74%. This figure clearly shows that the film has failed to draw the audience to the theatres.

Story and acting:

The story of the film revolves around Mamta (Divya Khosla), who lives in a chawl in Lucknow with her son and mother-in-law Radha (Chhaya Kadam). Mamta is hiding from Bahubali Thakur (Yashpal Sharma) due to the debt taken by her husband. Meanwhile, businessman Abhishek (Neil Nitin Mukesh) and a mysterious mobile phone enter her life. The secret of a big political scam hidden in the phone gives her a chance to blackmail Abhishek.

Specialties of the film:

  • The story has a mix of dark humor and thrill.
  • Divya Khosla's performance surprises as an innocent-looking, but cunning and intelligent woman.
  • Neil Nitin Mukesh has brought seriousness to his character, but the weak script and slow pace reduce the strength of the film.
Disadvantages and possibilities:

It is clear from the first day's earnings that 'Ek Chatur Naar' could not make a great start at the box office. However, there is a possibility of an increase in the number of viewers over the weekend. The fate of the film will now largely depend on word of mouth and critic reviews.
