PM Modi 76th Birthday: BJP Launches Sankalp Seva Abhiyan and Mega Bike Rallies

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is celebrating his 76th birthday today, September 17. On this significant occasion, a wave of greetings has poured in from across the globe, reflecting his stature as a prominent world leader. To mark this milestone, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has organized a series of extensive programs across the country, centered around the theme of public service and national dedication. A major highlight of the celebrations is the commencement of the Seva Sankalp Bike Yatra, which will connect the Prime Minister's birthplace, Vadnagar, with his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi. This initiative is part of the larger Sankalp Seva Abhiyan, which the BJP is launching today and will continue until October 17, 2024.

Grand Launch of the Seva Sankalp Bike Yatra

The Seva Sankalp Bike Yatra is a massive logistical undertaking designed to reach the grassroots level of the nation. In Varanasi, the rally will be officially flagged off by Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Simultaneously, in the Prime Minister's hometown of Vadnagar, Gujarat, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will flag off another leg of the bike rally. This cross-country journey is set to cover 10 states, passing through 193 districts and reaching 1159 villages. The rally aims to engage directly with citizens and celebrate the Prime Minister's 25 years of dedicated public service. In Vadnagar, the rally will involve 250 bikers, while the Varanasi leg will feature 51 specialized bikers starting their journey with sacred rituals.

Spiritual Ceremonies and Cultural Events in Kashi

Varanasi, the spiritual heart of India and PM Modi's constituency, is witnessing elaborate celebrations. The day began with 51 bikers gathering at the Lalita Ghat at 10 AM. Amidst the resonant sounds of the Damru Dal and the blowing of conch shells (Shankhdhwani), the participants collected holy water from the Ganges, while this water was then used for the Jalabhishek ceremony at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, where special prayers were offered for the Prime Minister's long life and health. Following the religious ceremonies, the official flag-off ceremony is scheduled at the Rudraksh Convention Center at 12 PM, led by CM Yogi Adityanath and Rajnath Singh. An exhibition chronicling the 25 years of PM Modi's public life has also been organized at the convention center to inspire visitors.

Massive Deepotsav in Ujjain and Ahmedabad

The celebrations extend to the holy city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, where a spectacular Deepotsav (festival of lamps) is planned. The banks of the Shipra River will be illuminated with more than 25 lakh lamps, creating a breathtaking visual tribute. This massive effort involves approximately 30000 volunteers working in coordination. Similarly, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, the celebrations have already commenced with the lighting of 11000 lamps to pray for the Prime Minister's longevity. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also scheduled to perform a special Aarti at the Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad, further emphasizing the spiritual dimension of the day's events.

While the nation celebrates, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains committed to his official duties in Delhi. He's set to inaugurate SEMICON India 2026, a major event focused on the semiconductor industry, where he will also deliver a keynote address. Politically, the Sankalp Seva Abhiyan and the bike rallies serve a strategic purpose. With the 2027 Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh on the horizon, the BJP is using these events to connect with the younger generations, specifically targeting the Alpha and Gen Z demographics. BJP National General Secretary Nitin Nabin recently shared details about the month-long programs honoring the Prime Minister's political journey. Gujarat BJP spokesperson Anil Patel emphasized that the rally's goal is to reach every citizen of the country. The 22 day journey will see the bikers traveling through 773 tehsils and 1195 villages (as per Vadnagar records), facilitating direct dialogue with the public and reinforcing the bond between the leadership and the people.
