Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Mau on Friday, where he addressed a massive public gathering and sent a clear, stern message to the mafias and criminals of the state, while during his visit, the Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several development projects aimed at the welfare of the people of Mau. Speaking at the event, CM Yogi took a direct aim at the mafias without naming anyone specifically, but his references were clear and pointed towards the dark days of the past when lawlessness prevailed in the region. He emphasized that the current administration has established a rule of law where every citizen feels safe and secure.
The End of Mafia Dominance
CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the era of mafia intimidation has come to an end in Uttar Pradesh. He stated that today, no mafia can dare to roam in an open jeep, waving a pistol and threatening any Hindu. He highlighted the transformation in the law and order situation, asserting that the days when criminals could openly terrorize the public are over. The Chief Minister noted that this change has been brought about through a continuous and relentless campaign against crime and corruption, which has been running without any breaks or fatigue. He assured the people that the government remains committed to maintaining this peace and won't allow any criminal elements to resurface.
Recalling the 2005 Mau Riots
During his speech, the Chief Minister recalled the tragic events of 21 years ago. He mentioned that in 2005, which was 21 years ago, a malicious attempt was made to set Mau on fire. He described how the mafias, who enjoyed political patronage at that time, created obstacles in the organization of Ramleela. He pointed out that the security of the region was in grave danger, and there was a reign of chaos and anarchy. According to CM Yogi, during those times, the poor were deprived of basic facilities, and religious events like Ramleela, Yagya, Ram Navami, and Janmashtami weren't allowed to take place peacefully due to the dominance of anti-social elements.
Criticism of Previous Governments
CM Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party and the Congress. He alleged that the Samajwadi Party used to bow down before mafias and goons. He claimed that the leaders of the party would break into a sweat at the sight of a mafia and would lose their voice. On top of that, he accused the goons associated with the Congress and the Samajwadi Party of stealing the rations meant for the poor, leaving the underprivileged to watch helplessly as their food was taken away. He contrasted this with the current administration's commitment to providing security and facilities to every citizen, ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach the intended recipients without any leakage.
Warnings of Severe Consequences
The Chief Minister issued a final warning to anyone who might think of disrupting the peace. He stated that if any mafia or criminal dares to interfere in any religious festival or event, such as Ramleela, Yagya, Ram Navami, Shivratri, Janmashtami, or Rakshabandhan, they will face a fate similar to that of the mythological villains Ravana and Kansa. He assured the public that while the festivals will be celebrated with full fervor, the troublemakers will meet a definitive end, while he also sent a strong message regarding the safety of women and traders, stating that anyone who compromises their security will have to face the ultimate judgment of Yamraj, the god of death, and no one else should have to intervene.
