A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against them following serious allegations leveled by a young man who worked as a cook at their residence. The complainant, identified as Vipendra Singh, has accused the father-son duo of physical assault and indecent behavior, leading to a police investigation into the matter.

Background of the Employment

According to the details provided in the FIR, Vipendra Singh is a resident of Rewa. He had come to Bhopal through a relative in search of work and was subsequently employed at the residence of Shailendra Singh (also referred to as Shailesh Singh). The terms of his employment were clear; he was hired to cook meals and reside at the house, while in exchange for his services, a monthly salary of 15000 rupees was agreed upon between the parties. Vipendra Singh stated that he began his duties on June 25, when he was brought to the family's residence located in the Neelbad area of Bhopal.

The Composition of the Household

The complainant mentioned that the household consisted of Shailendra Singh, his wife, his son Shashank Singh, who is a well-known IPL cricketer, and his daughter. While the initial days of employment seemed routine, Vipendra Singh alleged that the atmosphere soon turned hostile. He claimed that the family members began to find constant faults in his work, leading to frequent friction, while On top of that, he alleged that during his stay, his mobile phone was taken away from him by the family, which became a major point of contention.

The Escalation on June 28

The situation reached a breaking point on the morning of June 28. According to the complaint, at approximately 9 AM, after Vipendra Singh had finished preparing breakfast, he approached Shailendra Singh to request the return of his mobile phone. However, Shailendra Singh reportedly refused to hand over the device. This refusal led to a heated argument between the two. Feeling distressed and angry over the denial of his personal property, Vipendra Singh retreated to his room.

Allegations of Physical Assault and Misconduct

The FIR further details that shortly after Vipendra Singh went to his room, Shailendra Singh, his son Shashank Singh, and a driver identified as Mishra entered the room. The complainant alleged that the three individuals began verbally abusing him with foul language. The situation quickly turned violent as they allegedly resorted to physical assault. Following the beating, Vipendra Singh claimed he was forcibly evicted from the house. In a startling addition to the charges, the victim alleged that 1000 rupees were transferred from his mobile phone under the pretext of charges for his stay and food before he was kicked out.

Police Investigation and Current Status

After being ousted from the residence, Vipendra Singh reached out to a relative, and together they approached the local police station to lodge a formal complaint. Based on his statement, the police have initiated an investigation into the allegations of assault and misconduct, while the authorities are currently in the process of recording statements from both parties involved to verify the sequence of events. The police have stated that further legal action will be determined based on the findings of the ongoing investigation. As of now, the case has cast a shadow over the reputation of the IPL cricketer and his retired high-ranking official father.
