A massive fire incident has once again come to light in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, where a luxury car workshop was engulfed in flames on Tuesday night. The incident occurred at a workshop located in Balaji Market, Sitapura, causing significant panic in the surrounding area. According to the reports, eight luxury cars, along with various expensive accessories and high-end spare parts, were completely reduced to ashes. The workshop housed more than 50 expensive vehicles at the time of the incident, leading to fears of a much larger catastrophe.
Emergency Response and Firefighting Operations
Upon receiving information about the blaze, teams from the local police and the fire department rushed to the spot. Firefighters faced a challenging task as the flames were intense and smoke could be seen from a considerable distance. It took ten fire tenders making multiple rounds and approximately two hours of rigorous effort to bring the situation under control, while fire Officer Usha Sharma confirmed that while eight vehicles were lost, the timely intervention of the fire department managed to save dozens of other luxury cars parked in the vicinity.
Investigation into the Cause of Fire
Sanganer Sadar Police Station In-charge Kamlesh Kumar provided details regarding the incident, stating that the fire broke out late Tuesday night at the TNT Company workshop in Balaji Market. Preliminary investigations suggest that a short circuit might have triggered the blaze. To prevent the fire from spreading further to nearby structures, including an adjacent luxury car showroom, the electricity supply to the entire area was temporarily disconnected. A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) is scheduled to visit the site on Wednesday to collect evidence and determine the exact cause of the fire.
Financial Impact and Previous Incidents
While the exact valuation of the loss is still being assessed, initial estimates suggest damages worth crores of rupees due to the destruction of high-end vehicles and specialized equipment. This incident follows another major fire that occurred recently in the walled city area of Jaipur. In that case, a massive fire at Sethi Complex in Purohitji ka Katla had gutted 20 shops, leading to the closure of most shops and warehouses in the complex. The police have already registered a case against the owner of that complex, Anand Sethi, in connection with the previous disaster.
