A wave of mourning has swept across Jharkhand following a tragic road accident in Jamshedpur that claimed the lives of four young individuals. Among the deceased is the daughter of Jharkhand State Minister Deepika Pandey Singh. The horrific incident took place in the early hours of Thursday on the Marine Drive road located within the jurisdiction of the Sonari police station. The accident has sent shockwaves through the political corridors and the local community alike, as the severity of the collision left the vehicle completely mangled.
Details of the Fatal Collision
According to the information gathered from the site, the accident occurred around 3 AM on Thursday. A high-speed car, carrying four passengers, was traveling along Marine Drive when it crashed into the rear of a stationary truck. The truck had reportedly suffered a breakdown and was parked on the side of the road, while the impact of the collision was so intense that the car was crushed under the rear portion of the truck, leaving the occupants with no chance of survival. Local residents and passersby were alerted by the loud sound of the crash and immediately informed the local authorities.
Police Response and Rescue Operation
Upon receiving the news, a team of police officials, including DSP CCR Manoj Thakur and Sonari Police Station In-charge Sanjay Suman, rushed to the spot. The scene was described as gruesome, with the car being wedged deep inside the truck's chassis. The rescue team had to put in significant effort to retrieve the bodies from the wreckage. Gas cutters were brought in to slice through the metal of the car to reach the victims. The bodies were so badly damaged due to the impact that the identification process took considerable time. Eventually, the remains were moved to the MGM Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
