In a significant breakthrough in the alleged religious conversion case at the TCS company in Nashik, the police have arrested the main accused, Nida Khan. After being on the run for approximately 25 days, Khan was apprehended from the Naigaon area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in a joint operation conducted by the Nashik and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar police teams. The authorities are currently preparing to produce her before the court for further legal proceedings.

The 25-Day Manhunt and Bail Rejection

According to police sources, Nida Khan had been absconding since the registration of the case. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Nashik Police had been conducting raids at various locations to track her down. In an attempt to evade arrest, Khan had filed an anticipatory bail application, which was subsequently rejected by the court earlier this month. The prosecution had argued that custodial interrogation was necessary to examine digital evidence and witness statements, leading to the intensification of the search.

SIT Findings and Allegations

The SIT, formed under the directives of the Police Commissioner, informed the court during the proceedings that the investigation requires a thorough probe into technical data. The investigation agencies suspect that the roots of this case may extend beyond Nashik to other locations, suggesting a broader network. The police are looking into all possible links to determine the scale of the alleged activities and any other individuals involved in the case.

Key Highlights of the Investigation

Raids and Technical Surveillance

Prior to the arrest, the police conducted multiple raids at potential hideouts based on information obtained from the accused's husband. However, Khan remained elusive as she and several of her relatives had switched off their mobile phones to avoid detection. Following persistent technical surveillance and coordination between the two police departments, she was finally located and arrested in the Naigaon locality of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city.
