The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Rajasthan has executed a major operation, uncovering a massive corruption scandal involving the Rajasthan State Seed Corporation. The investigation has led to the recovery of a staggering 2 crore 44 lakh rupees in illegal cash, exposing a deep-rooted racket that compromised the interests of farmers across the state. At the center of this controversy is Jugal Kishore Bishnoi, the Director of the Rajasthan State Seed Corporation, whose involvement in a fake seed scam has sent shockwaves through the administration.

The Genesis of the Fake Seed Scam

The case began when the state government, in its effort to provide certified and high-quality seeds to farmers, initiated a crackdown on substandard agricultural products, while during this process, authorities conducted raids on warehouses storing peanut seeds under the Gajraj brand. Following the discovery of irregularities, the sale of these seeds was immediately prohibited. However, instead of following legal procedures, a conspiracy was hatched to suppress the investigation. It was revealed that Kiran Kapadia, the proprietor of the company involved, sought to bypass the legal consequences and move the fake seeds back to Gujarat by paying massive bribes to high-ranking officials.

The Bribery Trail and ACB Intervention

According to information obtained from sources, Director Jugal Kishore Bishnoi allegedly accepted a bribe of 1 crore 20 lakh rupees from Kiran Kapadia to settle the matter. On top of that, he's suspected of receiving another 60 lakh rupees through various other channels. The ACB received a confidential tip-off indicating that Jugal Kishore Bishnoi was attempting to transport a large sum of 90 lakh rupees to Ganganagar through his nephew, Swatantra Bishnoi. Acting swiftly on this intelligence, the ACB team intercepted a bus in Lunkaransar. During the search, Swatantra Bishnoi was caught red-handed with 85 lakh rupees in cash, which he couldn't account for.

Massive Cash Recovery from Director's Residence

Following the successful interception in Lunkaransar, the ACB expanded its search operations to the residence of Director Jugal Kishore Bishnoi. The search yielded an additional 1 crore 59 lakh rupees in cash, bringing the total recovery in this case to 2 crore 44 lakh rupees. The sheer volume of cash recovered highlights the extent of the corruption within the corporation. The ACB has since detained six individuals, including Director Jugal Kishore Bishnoi and proprietor Kiran Kapadia, for further interrogation. The investigation has also uncovered that the accused had established a network with several other officials to manipulate laboratory samples and ensure the resumption of illegal seed sales. The ACB is now focused on identifying and exposing all the individuals involved in this extensive criminal syndicate.
