Rajasthan is currently witnessing a mixed weather pattern as the influence of the Western Disturbance begins to subside across the state. Starting Friday, May 8, a heatwave spell has officially commenced in the western districts of the state. While several parts of Western Rajasthan are grappling with rising temperatures, other districts have experienced sudden weather changes including thunderstorms and rain. On Friday afternoon, districts such as Nagaur, Tonk, Ajmer, and Sawai Madhopur witnessed light rainfall accompanied by dust storms. The Meteorological Department has now issued a heatwave alert specifically for the western parts of the province.
Heatwave Warning for Western Rajasthan Districts
The weather department has issued a stern warning for heatwave conditions in the districts of Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Barmer. These western regions are expected to face intense heat and hot winds as the mercury continues to climb, while the heatwave phase, which began on Friday, is likely to intensify, affecting daily activities in these desert districts. Residents have been advised to take necessary precautions against the rising temperatures as the impact of the Western Disturbance fades.
