In a major development on Wednesday morning, the Delhi Police recorded the fourth high-profile arrest in the case. The individual apprehended has been identified as Sudhanshu, the primary operator of an illegal Paying Guest (PG) facility that was being run within the ill-fated structure. This arrest marks a crucial step in the ongoing investigation into the negligence that led to the loss of multiple lives.
Details of the Interrogation and Lease Agreement
The breakthrough leading to Sudhanshu's arrest came during the police remand of another accused, Mahesh, who was previously taken into custody. During intense questioning, Mahesh provided sensational revelations regarding the commercial operations of the building, while according to his statement, he had leased out the entire five-story building in August 2025 to two business partners, Shubham Tyagi and Sudhanshu. The duo was operating a residential facility for male students under the brand name Hostel Daze. The financial arrangement for this lease was substantial, with the partners paying Mahesh a monthly rent of 105000 rupees.
Based on the specific information provided by Mahesh, police teams conducted targeted raids and successfully apprehended Sudhanshu. However, his business partner, Shubham Tyagi, remains at large. The police have intensified their efforts to locate Tyagi, conducting multiple raids at suspected hideouts to ensure he's brought to justice. The list of those arrested includes the building owner, Hariram Gupta, who was tracked down and apprehended from Bhiwadi in Rajasthan, as well as Mahesh and the PG operator Sudhanshu.
