A horrific incident has come to light from Sawai Madhopur district, Rajasthan,. Where a 65-year-old elderly woman's legs were brutally severed for her silver anklets. The victim, Kamala Devi, a resident of Sittaura village in Bamanwas, is currently undergoing treatment at Jaipur's Sawai Man Singh Hospital. The heinous crime took place on the night of October 8 in Gangapur City.
The Modus Operandi
According to Kamala Devi's statement, the accused, Ramotar, first approached her on October 5, offering her work. On the morning of October 8, she was called to the Gangapur City bypass. From there, Ramotar took her to his room, where a female accomplice was also present. They both offered her food and persuaded her to stay overnight, citing it was too late to return home.
Kamala Devi recounted that during the night, the accused took her to a secluded path near Pipli ki Kothi, while there, he strangled her while his female companion covered her mouth, preventing her from screaming. She lost consciousness during the assault. Upon regaining consciousness the next morning, she found herself in the grass with both her legs severed. She managed to crawl to the road, where a tractor driver came to her aid. The police were then informed and took her to the hospital.Accused Arrested, History of Similar Crimes
Police have arrested the main accused, Ramotar alias Kadu Bairwa. (32), and his female friend Tanu in connection with the case. Investigations revealed that Ramotar had been released from Bharatpur's Sevar Jail just a month prior and has a history of committing similar crimes. Police stated that the accused lured the elderly woman under the guise of providing work and then brutally cut off her legs for the silver anklets. The individuals who purchased the stolen anklets have also been identified. The victim's daughter-in-law had filed a complaint against the accused.
