The updated SUV brings a host of aesthetic enhancements, a more feature-rich interior, and a significant mechanical upgrade in the form of a new transmission system, while the 2026 model is being offered in seven distinct trims: Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus, Topline, GT Line, GT Plus Chrome, and GT Plus Sport.

Engine and Performance Upgrades

0-liter TSI turbo-petrol engine. This engine continues to produce 114 hp and 178 Nm of peak torque. 5-liter turbo-petrol engine remains available, delivering 147 hp and 250 Nm of torque. 5L variant is paired with either a 6-speed manual or the existing 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, catering to different driving preferences.

Refined Exterior and New Color Palette

While the overall silhouette remains familiar, Volkswagen has given the Taigun a more premium and sharper appearance. The front fascia features a redesigned panel with new headlights integrated with sleek LED DRLs that meet at the central Volkswagen badge, while at the rear, the SUV now sports connected LED tail-lamps and a blacked-out 'Taigun' badge. Volkswagen has also introduced two new exterior shades—Avocado Pearl and Steel Grey—taking the total color options to nine, including Lava Blue and Deep Black Pearl.

Advanced Interior and Tech Features

Inside the cabin, the Taigun Facelift receives a substantial technological boost. 09-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting up to 15 integrated applications. A 9-inch fully digital driver display with turn-by-turn navigation support is also included. The SUV comes equipped with the 'Hello Volkswagen' voice assistant, a panoramic sunroof with summer mode, 6-way electrically adjustable ventilated front seats, and smart touch climate control, enhancing the overall user experience.

Safety Standards and Variant Pricing

Safety remains a core focus for Volkswagen, with the Taigun maintaining its 5-star Global NCAP safety rating for both adult and child protection. The facelifted model includes over 40 safety features, such as 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), multi-collision braking, and front and rear parking sensors. Pricing starts at ₹10,99,900 for the Comfortline MT and goes up to ₹19,29,900 for the GT Plus Sport DSG. The Highline-Plus AT with the new 8-speed transmission is priced at ₹15,44,900, while the Topline AT is available at ₹17,17,500.
