This shows how much respect UAE President Al Nahyan has for PM Modi. Even before this tour, the UAE President had become a fan of PM Modi. PM Modi being honored with UAE's highest civilian honor 'Order of Zayed' in the year 2019 is an example of this. The foundation of the friendship between the two was laid in the year 2015 itself. When PM Modi made his first visit to UAE. After this, he has visited UAE five times till now.

First visit by an Indian PM in 34 years

PM Modi's first visit was in August 2015. The second one took place in February 2018, the third in August 2019, the fourth in June 2022 and the fifth in July 2023. When the PM visited UAE in 2015, it was the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in the last 34 years. PM Modi is also not behind in giving the return gift of UAE's friendship.

A glimpse of this was seen on Republic Day in 2017. Modi government had invited Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the chief guest. At that time Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was not the President of UAE but the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. According to tradition, India makes the Prime Minister or President of a country the chief guest on Republic Day. But Al Nahyan came as the chief guest on Republic Day in 2017. That means PM Modi is also not lagging behind in giving importance to relations with UAE.
