Mumbai: Nearly 48 hours after swearing in as deputy CM with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has given a big relief to NCP leader Ajit Pawar. The ACB has given a clean chit to Ajit Pawar in the Rs 70,000 crore irrigation scam.

Earlier, in November 2018, the Anti-Corruption Bureau had blamed former Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar in the alleged irrigation scam of about 70 thousand crores in Maharashtra. The Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau had told the Bombay High Court that a huge lapse on the part of former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and other government officials has come to light in its investigation in the alleged crores of crores of rupees. The scam is worth about Rs 70,000 crore, which is linked to alleged corruption and irregularities in approving and starting many irrigation projects during the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party rule.
