Akhilesh Yadav Mocks BJP Defeat: Claims Party Tested Support Without Dishonesty

Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following the results of the recent by-elections. Reacting to the BJP's defeat in the Bankipur and Datia constituencies, Yadav suggested that the ruling party was conducting an internal experiment to gauge its actual popularity when stripped of administrative advantages. He remarked that the BJP leadership seemingly wanted to observe how many votes they could secure without resorting to what he termed as dishonesty or manipulation.

The Experiment of Fairness and the Resulting Defeat

According to Akhilesh Yadav, the outcome in Bankipur and Datia serves as a clear indicator of public sentiment. He stated that the BJP wanted to see the extent of public dissatisfaction by contesting without the usual support of the police administration, without engaging in dishonest practices, and without any alleged scams involving Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Yadav asserted that the public has now demonstrated that if the BJP enters the electoral battlefield without these unfair advantages, they're bound to face defeat. He characterized this loss not just as a simple electoral failure but as a calculated realization by the party of its standing among the common people when the playing field is level.

A Twelve Year Return Gift

The Samajwadi Party leader further commented that this defeat is a 12 year return gift for the Bharatiya Janata Party. He noted that after this loss, the party workers are left with nothing. Yadav drew a comparison with other elections, stating that if the BJP had fought these by-elections in the same manner as they did in Kundarki or as they contested in Bengal by deploying heavy forces, the results might have been different. However, he claimed that in this instance, they chose to see the reality of public anger without the intervention of the police or administrative machinery. He reiterated that the party had decided to see how much the public would vote for them without any dishonest means.

Divine Justice and Public Anger

Earlier, Akhilesh Yadav took to his social media handle X to express his views on the BJP's electoral setback, while in a post that combined spiritual metaphors with political criticism, he wrote that those who harbored the arrogance of making God dance were themselves made to dance by God. He stated that those who considered themselves above God have been brought down from their high positions by the divine, along with the fever of their arrogance. Yadav attributed this result to the combined unity of the youth and the anger of their parents, stating that the BJP has betrayed the trust and faith of the public in various ways.

Demands for Resignation and Internal Crisis

The SP chief also touched upon the internal dynamics of the BJP following the defeat, while he suggested that members within the BJP would now demand the resignation of their own colleagues. He specifically pointed out that those who couldn't even win their own assembly seats can't be trusted to lead the party to victory elsewhere. Yadav remarked that this defeat belongs to those who chose these candidates or imposed their will on the organization. He added that no one can now claim that resignations don't happen within the BJP. Plus, he described the situation as a double defeat for the double engine government, noting that when the national president can't win an assembly seat, the state president won't even be able to lead the fight. He concluded by saying that the BJP's defeat marks the beginning of change and that even their safest and traditional seats will no longer be secure. He predicted a crisis where the party might struggle to find candidates willing to take their ticket in the future.
