Lucknow: All private schools of Uttar Pradesh (Right to Information, 2005) will now be in the scope of the Information Act (Right to Information, 2005) and the information sought under RTI will be essentially to be given. With this, the Private Schools in Up under RTI Purview will get relief from wandering around the students and their parents.

Private schools in the scope of RTI Act

Tell that the State Information Commission (SIC) has ordered it. State Information Commissioner Pramod Kumar Tiwari has asked to appoint public information officers in private schools. He has also said that non-aid private school should be under the scope of the RTI Act. It has been a matter of debate for a long time.

After the petition of Sanjay Sharma filed in relation to two famous private schools of Lucknow, SIC asked the Chief Secretary to instruct private school administrators to facilitate information to people under RTI Act, 2005 Appoint the officer.

So far the private schools used to argue

Private schools did not provide information on the basis of RTI that they do not get any help from the state and that is why they are out of the RTI Act.

However, the Supreme Court had decided that if a city's development authority gives land to a private school at discounted rates, then the school will be considered as a school-helped school.


The SIC also said that the District Education Officer, the petitioner is bound to give all the information sought in the form.
