Russia Military Drills: America has objected to India's participation in Russia's Multinational Vostok-2022 Exercise. About 50 thousand soldiers are taking part in this exercise to be held in tri-service i.e. water, land and sky. A contingent of Gurkha Regiment of India comprising 80 soldiers is participating in the Vostok exercise. However, India has not given much publicity to its participation in this exercise.
The exercise will last for a weekAccording to the Russian Defense Ministry, the Vostok exercise is a strategic command post exercise focused on the security of the eastern region of Russia and in which a dozen allied armies including India and China are participating. Apart from about 50 thousand soldiers, 5000 tanks, cannons and other weapons are involved in this exercise. Apart from this 140 aircraft and 60 warships are also part of this exercise.This one-week-long exercise has been organized under the auspices of Russia's Eastern Military District (Theatre Command) and Pacific-Fleet. It is believed that Russian President Vladimir Putin can also reach Vladivostok to review this exercise.
