IND vs ENG: The five-match Test series between India and England starting on June 20 has now become historic. This series will now be known as the "Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy". The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) officially unveiled this new trophy on June 19, in which two great personalities of cricket - James Anderson and Sachin Tendulkar - were present in person.Two great personalities immortalized in the trophyThe newly-announced Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy has pictures of these two legendary players engraved on it. This trophy symbolizes their contribution and their immortal legacy in cricket. Till now this series was known as the "Pataudi Trophy", which started in 2007. But now a new tradition has started with the change in name.The Pataudi Medal will remain intactAlthough the name of the trophy has been changed, the tradition of the Pataudi Medal has been maintained. The ECB has clarified that the captain who wins the series will still be awarded the Pataudi Medal, which symbolizes the tradition of honoring the cricket legacy of Nawab Pataudi.James Anderson expressed prideEngland fast bowler and Test cricket's highest wicket-taker James Anderson, who will retire after this series, said at the trophy unveiling,"This is a proud moment for me and my family. There have always been exciting matches between India and England. I hope the England team will perform brilliantly this summer."Tendulkar called Test cricket "the root of life"Great batsman Sachin Tendulkar also shared his views on this occasion and said,"Test cricket has been an important part of my life. It is a true test of your patience, skill and commitment. This trophy will become an inspiration for generations to come. Both India and England have made unique contributions to Test cricket."
