Pakistan's objection not accepted by ICC

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had requested the ICC to change the venue of some of its ODI World Cup matches. Meanwhile, news has now come to the fore that ICC and BCCI have rejected it. It has been learned from Cricbuzz that a meeting of ICC and BCCI was held on Tuesday i.e. June 20, after which the PCB has been told that the matches which have been kept in the schedule will remain there, it cannot be changed. Earlier it was reported that the Pakistani team had requested to have their matches in Chennai and Bengaluru. Also, the draft schedule of the World Cup that surfaced revealed that the India-Pakistan match would be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, while the Afghanistan-Pakistan match would be held in Chennai. PCB had lodged its objection regarding this.

The matches of Pakistan which came in the draft schedule will be played there, the first match of the World Cup on October 5.

The PCB has been told by the ICC and the BCCI that no change in the venue of the matches is possible now. Where the matches of the World Cup are held, that is, the host country has every right to make the match of any team at any venue, if there is a change in it, then the approval of the ICC is necessary. Cricbuzz has been quoted as saying that the venue of the match can be changed only on the basis of security concerns. Meanwhile, even though the full schedule has not been revealed, it has been learned that this time the first match will be played on October 5 and will be England vs New Zealand match. Also, the great match between India and Pakistan will be played on 15 October. It is also reported that the final match will be played on 19 November. The complete schedule is expected to come next week.
