AUS vs PAK: In the World Cup 2023, Australia has won the second consecutive match after losing the first two matches. The Australian team, captained by Pat Cummins, continued its comeback journey by defeating Pakistan by 62 runs in Bengaluru. Batting first, Australia scored 367 runs on the basis of explosive centuries by David Warner and Mitchell Marsh. Pakistan responded to this in a strong manner but Adam Zampa and Marcus Stoinis made a comeback for their team with strong bowling and stopped Pakistan from making the world record again. Pakistani team could score only 305 runs. This is Pakistan's second consecutive defeat in four matches.

This was the first match of this World Cup at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Due to the batting friendly pitch and the ground with small boundaries, there was always expectation of rain of runs here and the batsmen of both the teams did not disappoint. A total of 672 runs were scored in the match, while only 96 overs were batted. However, even more runs could have been scored had Australia's middle order batsmen taken advantage of the explosive start by Warner and Marsh.

Babar Azam, who is constantly coming under question due to his captaincy, once again took a decision which raised questions. Despite winning the toss at Chinnaswamy, Babar decided to bowl first. They had to bear the brunt of this but Pakistani fielding also contributed to it. When David Warner was on just 10 runs, Usama Mir dropped an easy catch on Shaheen's ball. After this, Warner did not spare Pakistan and along with Marsh made an explosive partnership of 259 runs in 33.5 overs. During this, both the batsmen completed their centuries on consecutive balls.
