Ranji Trophy 2024: The second semi-final match of Ranji Trophy is being played at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai in which Shardul Thakur scored a brilliant century. Thakur, coming in at number nine, played an inning of 109 runs and saved his team Mumbai from being bundled out cheaply against Tamil Nadu. Thakur played this innings when the Mumbai team was in trouble. He lost his nine wickets for 106 runs. But then Thakur along with Hardik Tamor took charge of the team and played a brilliant innings. After this innings, Thakur also said a big thing which the Board of Control for Cricket in India should hear.

In this match, Thakur played an innings of 109 runs in 105 balls with the help of 13 fours and four sixes. He made a partnership of 105 runs with Tamor. After this he added 79 runs with Tanush Kotian who scored 74 runs. Mumbai ended the second day with 353 runs at the loss of nine wickets.

How should be the schedule of Ranji Trophy?

After the match, Thakur expressed his views regarding the schedule of Ranji Trophy. According to social media reports, Thakur has said that there should be a gap in Ranji Trophy matches. He said that BCCI should keep a gap between Ranji Trophy matches. He said that the gap of three days is less because playing nine matches in less gap increases the chances of a player getting injured. Thakur has played only three-four matches in Ranji Trophy this season. Before this he was with Team India on South Africa tour. Thakur has played an important role in taking the team to the semi-finals.

The schedule is tight

The current season of Ranji Trophy started from January 5. There was only a gap of 3-4 days between matches in the entire season. Thakur says that BCCI should pay attention to this and the gap between matches should be increased. The final of this season is to be played on March 10. That is, Ranji Trophy will run for about two and a half months in which a total of 38 teams took part. A total of 138 matches were scheduled during the entire season.
