Rajasthan News: Bhajan Lal government of Rajasthan has taken a big decision at this time. The government has closed the 'Rajiv Gandhi Yuva Mitra Internship Programme' running in the state. Let us tell you that earlier the Ashok Gehlot government had started this scheme, which now the Bhajanlal government of Rajasthan has decided to discontinue. According to the instructions issued by the government, this scheme will be completely stopped after December 31, 2023.

Ashok Gehlot responded

Now former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has expressed his opposition to this decision of the Rajasthan government by posting on social media platform X. He has written on Twitter that it is not appropriate to terminate the services of about 5,000 youth working under the Rajiv Gandhi Yuva Mitra Internship Program to take the government schemes to every home. These youth are aware about the government schemes and are helping the government a lot.

If there was a problem with the name then we would have done this work

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has further written that if the new government had a problem with the name of this scheme, then Rajiv Gandhi could have changed the name in the name of Atal Bihari Vajpayee like the service centres. Whereas the people of the state know that during the last tenure, our government had increased the salaries of Panchayat assistants appointed temporarily by the BJP government by making them permanent. With such positive thinking, the new government should also continue the Rajiv Gandhi Yuva Mitra Internship Programme.

About the scheme

Actually, Rajiv Gandhi Yuva Mitra Internship Program was started in Rajasthan during the government of Ashok Gehlot. This scheme was started in the year 2021. Under this scheme, the government selected eligible youth and provided them the opportunity to do internship for six months in various fields. At the same time, after the completion of the internship, the youth were also given a certificate. At the same time, if the performance of a candidate is good then his internship period could also be extended. Under this scheme, there was an opportunity to do internship for a maximum of two years.
