Central Government: The Central Government has given a big Diwali gift to the farmers along with the central employees. The government has approved the increase in dearness allowance of employees. The 4 percent increase in DA and DR has been approved in the cabinet meeting. While giving relief to the farmers, the government has also increased the MSP of Rabi crops.

Both will be implemented from July. Earlier it was estimated that there would be an increase of 3 percent in DA. After that, when inflation figures came last month, it was decided to increase it to 4 percent.

So many people will get benefit

The DA increase will provide great relief to many central government employees and pensioners before the festive season. Of this, 47 lakh will be for central government employees and 68 lakh for pensioners. The DA increase will be effective from July 1, 2023. This means that central government employees with arrears for the period between July and October will get increased salary from the month of November.

Banking expert and founder of Voice of Banking, Ashwini Rana said that government employees and pensioners are waiting for the Central Government to increase the DA. This decision of the government will provide a lot of relief to crores of people before the rising inflation and festivals.

How much will the salary increase?

After increasing DA, there will be a significant increase in the salary of central employees. Let us try to understand this with a calculation. Suppose, if the basic salary of a government employee is Rs 36,000, then his DA comes to around Rs 15,120. If it is increased by 4 percent, it means that the DA of that employee will increase to Rs 16,560. This means that there will be an increase of Rs 1440 in DA every month. If we talk about the whole year, then DA will increase by Rs 17280.
