Mohammed Zubair get Bail in FIR: The Supreme Court on Wednesday granted interim bail to Alt News co-founder Mohammad Zubair in all the six cases registered against him in Uttar Pradesh. Not only this, the court has also ordered the immediate release of Mohammad Zubair. A Supreme Court bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud said there was no justification to keep Zubair in custody after a Delhi court granted him bail in the case registered by the Special Cell.

Delhi Special Cell is investigating the matter
Let us tell you that the Special Cell is investigating the tweets and funding related to the matter. The court said that Zubair would be released on interim bail on production of a bail bond of Rs 20,000 before the magistrate court at Patiala House.

Big relief to Mohammad Zubair
The bench also said that it would be appropriate that all the FIRs be clubbed together and probed by one authority. Zubair had earlier filed a petition in the court seeking merging of several FIRs registered against him with the FIRs registered by the Special Cell of Delhi Police. The court transferred all the FIRs registered against him across the country as well as in Uttar Pradesh to the Delhi Police. After which the SIT formed by the UP government to investigate the derogatory tweet was also dissolved.

All FIRs will be transferred to Delhi Police
The Supreme Court said that the Delhi Police will conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the matter and Zubair can move the Delhi High Court to quash all or any of the FIRs. Interestingly, the SC said that this relief would be applicable to all FIRs that would be filed in future in respect of tweets made by him on the same subject. This means that in future all FIRs that happen anywhere in the country will automatically be transferred to Delhi Police.
