Defense Acquisition: The Defense Ministry on Monday approved to start the process of procurement of equipment worth Rs 76390 crore for the Army, Navy and Air Force. The special thing is that all these accessories will be purchased from indigenous companies only. These include anti-tank armored vehicles for the Army, modern warships for the Navy and aircraft engines for the Air Force.

This power will be added to the army fleet

The Defense Acquisition Council (DAC) of the Ministry of Defense, formed to decide the procurement for the forces, has approved the Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for the purchase of equipment costing Rs 76,390 crore. Under this, special trucks, bridge-building tanks, wheel-mounted armored vehicles equipped with anti-tank missiles and Weapon Locating Radar will be purchased for the army. All the equipment will be procured from indigenous companies and priority will be given to indigenous design.

Rs 36000 crore for Navy

Next Generation Corvettes will be purchased for the Navy at a cost of Rs 36000 crore. Corvettes are warships that can be used to conduct surveillance, protect merchant ships, assist soldiers in sea attacks, and search and attack. These Corvettes will be made indigenously based on the design of the Navy.

Digital Coast Guard project also approved

For the Air Force, Hindustan Aeronautical Limited has also got approval to manufacture engines for Dornier and Sukhoi aircraft. The Digital Coast Guard project has also been approved to create a secure network for surveillance and actions on beaches across the country.
