Bipasha Basu Reveals Industry Warnings Against Jism, Career Ending Fears Shared

Reflecting on her mindset at the time, Bipasha explained that she viewed the film differently than others did, while she stated that everyone in the industry told her not to do the film, claiming that even a hint of erotica would finish her career. However, for her, it was simply an adult love story. She felt comfortable with the project because she considered herself an adult and recognized that the film was made specifically for an adult audience, not for children, while she knew exactly what kind of film it was and what she was signing up for. The character of Sonia Khanna allowed her to explore various shades of acting, which she found appealing. She was determined to do the film despite the surrounding negativity.

Reaction to Post-Pregnancy Trolling

During the same interaction, Bipasha also addressed the trolling she faced regarding her weight gain after the birth of her daughter, Devi. She expressed her thoughts on the unrealistic expectations placed on women today. Bipasha noted how strange it's that even in modern times, women are expected to magically return to a shape they had in their 20s, even when they're in their 40s and have just given birth. She pointed out that if a woman doesn't immediately return to her pre-pregnancy shape, she's often subjected to harsh trolling, which she finds deeply problematic.
