The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a scathing attack on the Congress party and its leadership, drawing parallels between the Nehru-Gandhi family and Mughal rulers, specifically labeling Rahul Gandhi as the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The BJP has also predicted that the Congress's future will mirror that of the Mughal Empire, which eventually collapsed, while this statement follows a 'Vot Chor Gaddi Chhod' (Vote Thief, Leave the Throne) rally organized by the Congress in Delhi's Ramlila Maidan, which has ignited a new political controversy across the nation.
Congress's 'Vot Chor Gaddi Chhod' Rally
On Sunday, the Congress party organized a massive rally titled 'Vot Chor Gaddi Chhod' at the historic Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, while the rally saw the participation of senior Congress leaders and thousands of party workers from across the country. The primary objective of the rally was to attack the BJP, portraying it as a party that forms governments through 'illegal means, while ' Congress leaders accused the BJP of undermining democracy and constitutional values, further claiming that the BJP had manipulated elections to seize power. During the event, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also addressed the gathering, challenging the BJP to contest fair elections using ballot papers, asserting that the BJP would never win such elections, a fact she claimed the BJP itself acknowledges.
'Modi Teri Kabr Khudegi' Slogans and BJP's Retaliation
During the Congress rally, several videos surfaced on social media allegedly showing some Congress workers chanting 'Modi teri kabr khudegi' (Modi, your grave will be dug) while entering the Ramlila Maidan. These slogans provided the BJP with an opportunity to retaliate. BJP National Spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi strongly condemned these chants, stating that it once again demonstrates that Congress workers are wishing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's death. Trivedi alleged that the Congress, by pursuing a 'Muslim League-Maoist agenda,' is becoming a platform for anarchy. He further added that while the Congress has insulted Prime Minister Modi and his mother on several occasions in the past, wishing to 'dig a grave' clearly indicates the party's future.
Basis for Comparing Rahul Gandhi to Aurangzeb
Sudhanshu Trivedi presented a historical argument to justify comparing Rahul Gandhi to the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, while he stated that the Mughal Empire had six prominent rulers: Babar, Humayun, Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan, and Aurangzeb. According to Trivedi, the decline of the Mughal Empire began after Aurangzeb's reign, eventually leading to its collapse. Following this analogy, Trivedi claimed that the Congress party has also been ruled by six individuals from the Nehru family: Motilal Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi. He asserted that Rahul Gandhi is the sixth person in this lineage who is currently 'enjoying power.
Prediction of Congress's Downfall
Citing the book 'The Last Mughal,' the BJP spokesperson stated that the future of the Congress under Rahul Gandhi's leadership is likely to be similar to that of the Mughal Empire, while he emphasized that just as the Mughal Empire ended after the rule of its sixth generation, the Congress, under the leadership of the sixth generation of the Nehru family, will meet the same fate. Trivedi concluded by saying that Congress leaders continue to make statements that create circumstances which will eventually bury them in the pages of history. This political rhetoric is seen as a serious warning to the Congress, which, according to the BJP, is heading towards its end due to its own mistakes and negative politics. The political sparring between the two major parties is expected to intensify further as they continue to seize every opportunity to attack each other.
