Haryana Politics: The BJP government in Haryana has come into minority after the withdrawal of support from three independent MLAs. Despite not having majority, Nayab Saini government is not in danger. Actually Naib Saini had taken oath as Chief Minister on March 12 this year. Other ministers were also sworn in. After this there was a floor test in the assembly. The Saini government had proved its majority in the House.

What does the rule say

According to the rules, there must be a gap of at least six months between two floor tests. In such a situation, the opposition cannot bring a no-confidence motion till September 2024. Assembly elections are also to be held in Haryana in October-November this year. In such a situation, despite being a minority government, the BJP government is safe. Saini government will not fall.

Three independent MLAs supported Congress

Let us inform that in a blow to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana amid the Lok Sabha elections, three independent MLAs on Tuesday announced that they have withdrawn their support from the Naib Singh Saini-led government in the state. Three MLAs - Sombir Sangwan, Randhir Golan and Dharampal Gonder - also said that they have decided to support the Congress during the elections. The three MLAs made this announcement at a press conference held in Rohtak in the presence of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda and state Congress chief Uday Bhan.

Congress demands resignation of CM Saini

Congress state president Uday Bhan said, “I also want to say that the current strength of the (90-member) Haryana Assembly is 88, out of which the BJP has 40 members. The BJP-led government earlier had the support of Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) MLAs and independent MLAs, but JJP had also withdrawn its support and now the independents are also leaving. He said, “The government led by Naib Singh Saini is now in minority. Chief Minister Saini should tender his resignation, because he does not have the right to remain in office even for a minute. He said that assembly elections should be held in the state as soon as possible.
