BJP Slams Rahul Gandhi: Sudhanshu Trivedi Questions Knowledge On Gyanesh Kumar Issue

The Bharatiya Janata Party has launched a sharp and comprehensive counter-attack against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi following his recent press conference concerning Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the SIR issue. BJP spokesperson and Member of Parliament Sudhanshu Trivedi addressed the media to respond to the allegations made by the Congress leader. Trivedi stated that Rahul Gandhi suffers from a significant lack of understanding and wisdom regarding the intricate political realities of India. He remarked that there was a time when anti-incumbency had no effect on the Congress party, but today, the situation has changed drastically due to their own internal failures, while trivedi further asserted that Rahul Gandhi's intellect seems to be at a zero level as he consistently fails to grasp the actual ground reality of the country's political landscape. According to the BJP leader, Rahul Gandhi is incapable of winning even a single Lok Sabha seat on his own merit and relies heavily on the support of alliance partners to maintain his political presence.

The Reality of Anti-Incumbency and Historical Context

During the press conference, Sudhanshu Trivedi addressed Rahul Gandhi's comments regarding anti-incumbency. Gandhi had claimed that anti-incumbency against the current government is an established truth that has been observed since the BJP came to power. However, Trivedi countered this by stating that anti-incumbency against the Congress has been far more consistent, persistent, and powerful throughout the history of independent India. He argued that Rahul Gandhi lacks a fundamental understanding of how Indian politics has evolved over the decades. To support his claim, Trivedi pointed out specific historical instances where the Congress party faced total rejection, while he noted that the Congress party has not returned to power in Tamil Nadu since 1967, a time when the Bharatiya Janata Party didn't even exist in its current form. Similarly, in West Bengal, the Congress has been out of power since 1977. Even though the Communists ruled West Bengal for 34 years from 1977 to 2011, Rahul Gandhi neither understands nor acknowledges these historical facts while raising the issue of anti-incumbency against others.

Congress Rule and the Era of Booth Capturing

Trivedi reminded the Congress party and the public of the era before the introduction of voter ID cards, describing it as a period where democratic processes were often compromised. He mentioned that during that time, incidents of booth capturing, looting of ballot boxes, and firing were common occurrences during elections. He specifically noted that in states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, hardly any election took place without people being killed or injured in electoral violence. During that period, anti-incumbency against the Congress didn't seem to work effectively because the electoral process wasn't as transparent as it's today. The BJP leader stated that the anti-incumbency sentiment is actually deeply rooted within the Congress party itself, particularly against the leadership of the Gandhi family. He mentioned that while the Congress party has been in power for nearly 100 years in various capacities, today they've reached a point where they can't win a single seat without a crutch from an alliance partner.

Dependence on Allies in Raebareli and Wayanad

The BJP spokesperson highlighted the dependence of the Gandhi family on other political parties for their electoral victories, while he pointed out that for the last 25 years, the Congress has only managed to win in Raebareli and Amethi with the support of the Samajwadi Party. Trivedi claimed that neither Sonia Gandhi nor Rahul Gandhi has the individual capability to win their family strongholds on their own without the backing of the Samajwadi Party. On top of that, he brought up the victory of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in Wayanad, stating that they won that seat only because of the support from the Muslim League. He emphasized that Wayanad is a constituency where the Muslim population is between 60 to 65 percent, making it a safe haven for them only through communal alliance. Trivedi concluded that the assessment regarding Rahul Gandhi's lack of experience and political depth is entirely accurate, while he stated that politically, Gandhi has almost no information and lacks a basic understanding of Indian politics, contrasting Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a leader connected to the ground, while calling Rahul Gandhi a leader who is flying above the ground.

Questioning the Basis of Allegations Against the EC

Regarding the allegations against the Election Commission and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Sudhanshu Trivedi stated that he respects the freedom of the press but questioned the factual basis of the reports being cited by the Congress. He asked if there was any credible report showing that the decisions made by the commission weren't unanimous. He also pointed out that there has been no press conference where all three commissioners weren't present together, which signifies internal consensus. He challenged the Congress party to provide any quotation or reaction from any Election Commissioner, even an off-the-record one, to support their claims of internal rift. He compared these current speculations to a report from April 2012 in the same newspaper which claimed the then Congress government was so scared that the army was about to carry out a coup. Trivedi asked if the public should believe all such speculative reports that lack any factual or evidentiary basis.
