PM Modi in G7 Summit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Canada on 17 June to participate in the G7 Summit. This visit of about 23 hours may have been short, but its political and diplomatic implications seem to be very big. These elements are using Canada for funding, planning violence and spreading instability in India. This is the same thing that India has been raising on international forums for a long time, but the Trudeau government ignored it.

Project Pelican: Action on Khalistanis

A campaign named 'Project Pelican' was also launched to crack down on the Khalistani network involved in anti-India activities in Canada. Under this operation, a big racket carrying out drug smuggling and terrorist activities through a trucking network between Canada and the US was busted. The wires of this network were connected to Khalistan supporters, Mexican drug cartels and arms suppliers. The investigation also revealed that this black money was being used for referendum, purchase of weapons and anti-India protests.

Mark Carney: Efforts to bring stability in relations

After the departure of Justin Trudeau, a big change is being seen in Canada's policy under the leadership of Mark Carney. During the meeting between Modi and Carney, agreement was reached on the appointment of high commissioners, resumption of trade talks and topics like digital, food security, mineral cooperation. This is a sign of giving new dimensions to cooperation between the two countries.

Balanced stance on Nijjar issue

Carney gave a very balanced response to the question asked on the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. He said that this matter is in the court and there is a need to be cautious on this. He also underlined the importance of direct cooperation between law enforcement agencies to deal with international repression.
