MEA on China: Asian Games are going to be held in China from 23 September to 8 October. Meanwhile, China has issued stapled visas to some people participating in the Asian Games. The statement of the Ministry of External Affairs has come on this. A strong protest has been lodged in this. These people are from Arunachal Pradesh. On the issue of stapled visas to some people from Arunachal Pradesh, MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, "It has come to our notice that stapled visas have been issued to some of our nationals representing the country in an international sports event in China." Was. this is unacceptable. We have lodged our strong protest with the Chinese side in this matter. Our consistent position on this matter and India reserves the right to respond appropriately to such actions.

Let us tell you that this time India is sending the maximum number of athletes to the Asian Games. The special thing this time is that men and women cricket teams are also participating. Because for the first time cricket has also been included in the Asian Games. However, in the meantime, China issued stapled visas to some Indian nationals participating in this sporting event, on which the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has strongly protested.

What is Staple Visa?

If the immigration officer stamps a separate paper without stamping the visa on a passport and staples or attaches it to the passport with the stamp, it is called a stapled visa. China has done such an act in the past as well. In the year 2013, two Indian players were given a visa stamp on a separate paper instead of the visa stamp on the passport. India had strongly objected to this stapled visa.
