Preparations have been completed to open classes below class VIII in Jammu division from Monday. For this, sanitization has been done in schools. Distance has been made in setting up desks in the classrooms under the Kovid protocol. Children arriving in schools will have thermal screening at the gate, in which they will be returned if they find any symptoms of Kovid. Strict adherence to COVID appropriate behavior will be ensured in school premises. In case of high fever cases being found in a school simultaneously, the facility of random covid testing will be provided by the health department.

There are 2451 schools in Jammu district in which 1574 are government and 877 private schools.

The Education Department and the Health Department are working in coordination to open the schools. In this, classes from 9th to 12th have already been opened, after which their lower classes are being started.

Special monitoring will be done on the health of young children

One of the challenges in starting lower classes is that none of the children coming to them were vaccinated. Only children in the age group of 15 to 17 have been vaccinated by the government. Due to which special monitoring will be done on the health of young children.

Health department coordinated with school administrations

According to Chief Medical Officer Jammu Dr. JP Singh, the Health Department has coordinated with the school administrations. In this, on the opening of the school, the health department will be given information related to Kovid symptoms on behalf of the school administration, in which the facility of random Kovid test, vaccination and medical aid will be provided.

Full preparation to open classes from VIII

So far no cases of Kovid have been reported from schools. At the same time, Chief Education Officer Suraj Rathore says that all preparations have been made to open classes in schools from class VIII. School managements have been asked to strictly follow the COVID appropriate behavior.

Shifts will take place in schools with more children

In Jammu district, a limited number of children will be called in shifts following the Kovid protocol in schools with more children. In this, classes will be held in two shifts in the morning and afternoon session. Classes will be prepared under the Kovid protocol.
