Sri Nagar: Ghulam Nabi Azad, one of the prominent leaders of the G23 group, on Friday said that he is ready to campaign for the Congress in the upcoming assembly elections.The "G23" is a group of 23 "dissident" Congress leaders who wrote a letter to party chief Sonia Gandhi demanding organisational overhaul and "visible leadership"."The victory of Congress party in the forthcoming state elections is a priority. I will be campaigning wherever I will be invited by the party or individual," said Ghulam Nabi Azad according to news agency ANI.Ghulam Nabi Azad, who recently completed his Rajya Sabha term, was not given an extension by the party.The "G23" leaders questioned this decision of the Congress leadership at an event in Jammu, where they had gathered in honour of Azad.Another prominent "G23" leader Anand Sharma was engaged in an open spat with Congress leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chouwdhary over the party's association with a Muslim cleric for the West Bengal assembly elections."G23" leaders had also raised questions at Rahul Gandhi' remark in which he had praised the people of Kerala and compared them with the voters of north India.The opposition had slammed Rahul and accused him of creating North-South divide for political gains.
