Delhi: Before the general elections, the opposition is once again trying to put up a barricade, but there are many challenges in front of its success. If there is a mobilization of the opposition, then Congress and TMC will be important in this. However, seeing the ongoing confrontation between Congress and TMC these days, it seems that once again the opposition's boat should not be sunk. Presidential elections may prove to be a litmus test before the 2024 general election. Mamata Banerjee has called a meeting of opposition parties in Delhi on June 15. Now from this meeting it will be clear that in which direction the wind is blowing.

TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to reach Delhi on June 14. The meeting to be held here will attempt to build a consensus on the presidential candidate. Now the question is whether Mamata Banerjee has called a meeting and the Congress wants to keep itself as the leader of the opposition. In such a situation, who attends this meeting and who does not, it will be interesting to see.

Congress started its process

Mamta Banerjee has sent letters to 22 leaders asking them to attend the meeting. He wrote in the letter that a strong and effective opposition is needed to fight the divisive forces. An attempt has been made to cover the entire opposition in this meeting. Arvind Kejriwal, KCR to Left have been called in the meeting. At the same time, top Congress sources say that the process of candidate selection from the back channel has started and consultations are being held.

Both parties agree on Sharad Pawar?

According to the reports so far, both TMC and Congress are ready to make NCP chief Sharad Pawar their candidate. Sonia Gandhi said that she has approached Mamata Banerjee along with Sharad Pawar. Senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge has been given the responsibility of building a consensus in this matter. Let us tell you that even after the victory in Bengal elections, Mamta Banerjee had come to meet Sonia Gandhi. It was only after this that the Congress started accusing TMC of luring Sushmita Dev and Mukul Sangma.

Experts say that the presidential election is going to be a litmus test for the opposition, from where the stand of 2024 will be clear. Many questions also arise from this move of Mamta Banerjee. Will Arvind Kejriwal stand with Congress? Will KCR agree to the opposition's proposal? What will be the stand of senior Congress leaders? Will this effort unite the opposition?
