The second wave of Corona has proved to be disastrous for India. Corona patients are also facing many side effects. However, doctors are now trying to know more about the danger of the delta strain of corona. Doctors say that symptoms like hearing loss, abdominal distension, blood clots, gangrene are being seen in corona patients infected with Delta strain. Till now these symptoms were not commonly seen in corona patients.Preliminary figures from England and Scotland show that the risk of hospitalization in this strain of corona is high. The Delta strain, also known as B.1.617.2, has spread to more than 60 countries. Delta's rapid spread compared to other variants and the vaccine's proving to be less effective on it, explains how dangerous this strain of corona is."We need to do more scientific research to know whether the new cases coming to the hospital are related to B.1.617 or not," Dr Abdul Ghafoor, an infectious disease physician at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, told NDTV. Dr Gafoor says that in comparison to the first wave of the epidemic, most of the patients of Kovid-19 are complaining of diarrhea in this wave.Dr Gafoor said, 'Last year we thought that we had known everything about our new enemy but now it has changed. Nothing can be guessed about this virus now.According to 6 doctors treating patients across the country, many corona patients are complaining of abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, hearing loss and joint pain. A study by researchers at the University of New South Wales last month said that these symptoms were reduced or absent in beta and gamma variants. Let us tell you that Beta was first found in South Africa and Gamma variant in Brazil.
Mumbai-based cardiologist Ganesh Manudhane says microthrombi or small blood clots are forming in some patients. These are becoming so severe that they kill the affected tissues and cause gangrene. Dr Manudhane has treated eight thrombotic patients at Seven Hills Hospital in the last two months. Due to this, fingers or feet of two patients also had to be amputated. Dr Manudhane said, 'I had seen three-four such cases last year but now every week one patient is coming with this disease.'According to a recent study by the Government of India panel, the delta variant is responsible behind the second deadly wave of corona in India. It is 50 percent more contagious than the alpha strain found in the UK. Various complications are being seen in many corona patients. Doctor Manudhane says that he is seeing blood clotting in people of all ages, even though they have not had any such history before.Hetal Marfatia, an ear, nose and throat surgeon at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, says that some corona patients are coming with complaints of deafness, swelling around the neck and severe tonsillitis. "Different symptoms are seen in each person," he said.Chetan Mundada, a pediatrician at Yashoda Group Hospital in Hyderabad, says that the most dangerous aspect of the current pandemic in India is its rapid spread. This virus is spreading rapidly even among children. At the same time, Dr Gafoor says that in this wave the entire family is getting infected with the delta variant, whereas last year it was not so.Now cases of corona infection are decreasing in India from Delta variant but now it is wreaking havoc in countries like Taiwan, Singapore and Vietnam. Vaccination is now being done on a large scale in these places. However, there is also evidence that the delta variant may be adept at avoiding the antibodies produced by the vaccine. Because of this, there is also pressure on pharmaceutical companies to replace the existing vaccine or make a new vaccine.
