Coronavirus Booster Dose: To prevent corona infection in the country, booster dose is also now ready to be provided to the people for free. People in the age group of 18 to 59 years can get this facility at government immunization centers. According to official sources, this facility will be given under a special campaign from July 15. Sources say that this campaign will run for 75 days. Under this, people will be able to get booster dose by going to government centers just like the two vaccine doses given earlier. Let us tell you that the rate of corona infection has been increasing for some time and due to this, the government has appealed to the people to get a booster dose.

However, there was a demand from a section that the booster dose should be provided free of cost like the earlier two doses. Meanwhile, the government has now decided to give this vaccine free of cost. Government officials said that this special campaign of 75 days will be run on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. So far, out of 77 crore people in the age group of 18 to 59 years, only one per cent have received a booster dose. In such a situation, it is believed that with the initiative of free vaccination, there will be a big increase in this figure and people will go to government centers and take booster doses for protection.

The effect of the first two doses lasts for 6 months

Official sources say that so far 26 per cent of the people aged 60 years and above and of the frontline workers have got the booster dose. An official said, 'In the last 9 months, most of the people of the country have got the second dose of corona vaccine. According to the study of ICMR and other global organizations, the immunity developed by two doses, its effect lasts for 6 months. But after that a booster dose is needed once again. Therefore, the government has decided to provide free booster dose to the people between the age group of 18 to 59 years.

87 percent people have got both the vaccines of corona

Let us inform that last week itself, the Ministry of Health reduced the difference between taking the second dose of corona and booster dose to 6 months, which was earlier 9 months. Apart from this, 'Har Ghar Dastak Abhiyan 2.0' was also started from June 1 to bring most of the people in the country under the ambit of vaccination. This two-month campaign is currently going on. According to government data, 96 per cent of those eligible for vaccination in the country have taken the first dose. Apart from this, 87 percent people have got the first vaccine.
