Govardhan Puja Method

To perform Govardhan Puja, make a picture of Govardhan with cow dung in the courtyard or balcony of the house. After this, worship God Govardhan by lighting roli, rice, kheer, batase, water, milk, betel, saffron, flowers and lamps. By doing this, the grace of Lord Shri Krishna always remains. It is believed that Lord Krishna lifted the huge Govardhan mountain with his little finger to protect the people of Braj. With this, Indra's pride was shattered. Since then the tradition of Govardhan Puja is going on. On this day 56 dishes are offered to Lord Krishna, which is called Annakoot. On the day of Annakoot, decorations and mass banquets in Sri Krishna temples are worth seeing.
