Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Punjab Kings (PUNJAB) by 6 wickets in the 11th match of IPL 2021 season. This is Delhi team's second win in 3 matches. With this, the team reached number two in the points table. DC opener Shikhar Dhawan smashed 92 off 49 balls, which overshadowed Mayank Agarwal and Birthday Boy Punjab Kings captain Lokesh Rahul.


Batting first after losing the toss, Punjab Kings gave a target of 196 runs. In response, the Delhi team lost 4 wickets and scored 198 runs to win the match. Dhawan made his 43rd fifty in the IPL. Apart from him, Prithvi Shaw scored 32 off 17 balls and Marcus Stoinis scored 27 not out off 13 balls.

Chasing a big target, Dhawan has 3 big partnerships

The Delhi team had a great start to chase the target of 196 runs. Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw shared a 59-run partnership off 33 balls.

Stoinis was caught by Jalaj Saxena on his ball, but the umpire called it a no ball. This also gave the team a free hit, on which Stoinis hit a six.


Rahul and Mayank's Fifty

Punjab Kings scored 195 runs for 4 wickets. From Punjab, Birthday Boy Lokesh Rahul scored 61 runs off 51 balls and Mayank Agarwal scored 69 runs off 36 balls. Deepak Hooda was 22 not out off 13 balls and Shah Rukh Khan scored 15 runs off 5 balls.

Punjab Kings scored 55 runs in the last 5 overs

Punjab Kings had a great start. There was a 122-run opening partnership between Lokesh Rahul and Mayank Agarwal.

Mayank was caught out on the ball of Meriwala, putting on the 8th fifty of his career. Captain Rahul remained on one end.

The team could add only 19 runs that the team suffered another major setback. Captain Rahul also returned to the pavilion with the 23rd FIFTY.
