Mentioned below are the important dates for the 2020 cycle of Delhi Police Constable Exam. It has been delayed this year, and the sequence of exams has been reversed from earlier.

Delhi Police Constable Exam 2020 – Changes in Selection Process

In 2020, due to the COVID pandemic, some changes have been made in the selection process for Delhi Police Constables. As per the trends till 2019, the selection process followed the following steps in the given order only.

1.    Physical Endurance / Measurement Test

2.    Pen and Paper-based exam

Candidates had to clear the Physical Endurance Test. Only those candidates who qualified it were allowed to sit in the Pen and Paper-based exam. But this year, this sequence has been reversed. Also, pen and paper tests have been replaced with Computer-based Tests. So in 2020, selections will be made as per the following in the given order.

1.    Computer-based Test (CBT)

2.    Physical Endurance & Measurement Test

Delhi Police Constable Computer Based Test (CBT)

As per the notice, a computer-based test will be held for every candidate to qualify for the next round. This test will consist of 100 marks and will have 4 sections. Test duration will be 1 hour 30 minutes and will have MCQ type questions. There is a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong attempt.

Delhi Police Constable - Physical Endurance & Measurement Test

After qualifying CBT, candidates will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test / Physical Measurement Test (PET/PMT). Candidates will be tested here for their physical capabilities. There are a few variations over different categories for the selection process. This criterion will also vary for male and female candidates.

Physical Endurance Test

Endurance Test for Delhi Police Constables checks their stamina and will power. It includes several physical activities like high jump, 1600 meters race, and long jump. Candidate has to achieve a minimum requirement to pass the test. There are variations in the criteria as per age, and gender.

Delhi Police Constable Exam 2020: Medical Requirements

Candidates appearing for the exam are advised to read the health requirements before appearing for the test. Before appearing for the exam, they are needed to get their medical examination done by a civil surgeon to undergo Delhi Police Constable Examination.

Following are the minimum standards for the medical requirement:

1.    Candidates need to possess good physical and mental health.

2.    Candidates must have high colour vision, and free from any defect (6/12 without any glass).

3.    Tattoo Specification (if any)

Content – Tattoos representing religious symbols and names, as followed in the Indian Army, shall be approved.

Location – On standard sections of the body like the forearm’s inner aspect, but only the left forearm, non-saluting limb, or dorsum of hands shall be allowed.

Delhi Police Constable Scope

A Delhi Police Constables can be promoted to the post of Head Constable after 6 to 7 years of service. They are also promoted regularly as per the service rendered.

The Delhi Police Constable is above the post of Home Guard and serves under the Head Constable. A Head Constable’s monthly in-hand salary is around ₹ 35,000. With the promotion, salary also increases and also the other social benefits.
